When people talk to me about sports photography or working as an NFL team photographer they usually mention the explosive football action photos showing the big hits and soaring catches by the supreme athletes in the league. But for me, some of the most memorable photographic moments of an NFL Sunday are the rare quiet seconds that punctuate the day.
The silent focus of the locker room 14 minutes before kickoff at Raymond James Stadium, the knocking of cleats meeting the concrete stairs on the long walk down to the field in Oakland and the pent up emotion of a team waiting in the tunnel before taking the field seem to stick in my mind on Monday morning and beyond.
Here are a few of my favorite behind the scenes NFL photos from the 2012 Tampa Bay Buccaneers season.
